Safety and Security
Emergencies
Forest Lakes comes under the jurisdiction of the Upper Pine River Fire District and Upper Pine River Rescue Team. In case of emergency, Dial 911. You call is relayed to the first responder medical treatment team, emergency medical team (EMT), and paramedics from Mercy Medical Center in Durango simultaneously. The Fire District, Rescue Team, First Responders, and EMTs are comprised of well-trained volunteers from Froest Lakes and the surrounding area who want to help you in your emergency. For non-emergencies, call Central Dispatch at 385-2900.
Fires
Outside fires are not allowed at any time for your
safety, except in approved barbeques, and are not allowed by the
covenants.

Animal Control
Please call central dispatch at 385-2900 and request that an animal
control officer contact you.
Speed Limit
The speed limit in Forest Lakes is 20mph and is enforced. Please report unsafe activity to the La Plata County Sheriff's Office.
